It's Starting to Look Like Winter at Waghop Lake
We went for a walk tonight at Fort Steilacoom Park, and there was a very cold breeze. We reached the lake as the sun was going down, and the reflection of the late sun on the water was beautiful! Even though it's still autumn, there was a wintry feel to the air and a wintry look to the lake and the surrounding trees and sky. We had a lovely, refreshing walk.

Contrail above Waughop Lake
A contrail and its reflection on Waughop Lake on Friday (12 Nov. 10).
Contrails (short for "condensation trails") or vapour trails are artificial clouds that are the visible trails of condensed water vapour made by the exhaust of aircraft engines. As the hot exhaust gases cool in the surrounding air they may precipitate a cloud of microscopic water droplets. If the air is cold enough, this trail will comprise tiny ice crystals.
